Shirts
![]()
The shirts are available in white and
off white. They are long enough to
go to mid-thigh.
This length makes
it possible to change into a kilt in a place of reduced privacy.
The cuffs and yoke are grommeted and laced.
NOTE that the cuffs are laced from the hand end so that the tied end will not dangle in food.

There is an applet on the left shoulder to hold the sash. |
| The sash may be put in following manner | |
Put one end on the sash through the applet from the front to back. This end may go as low as the bottom of the kilt in back. |
The other end is brought down and across the body from left to right then back and up across the back to meet at the left shoulder. |
Place the remainder over the applet and let it hang straight down. This should be eight to 12 inches in front, (if necessary to keep it up, this end of the sash may go through the applet). This leaves a double layer of sash in front to be held together with a penannular or similar pin. Adjust the length of the back to give comfortable look. |
Pleats are always in the back. |
Hold the kilt behind you. Bring the right side across in front. |
Then bring the left side across to an inch or two past the front of the right leg. Place the belt just under the rolled top edge and tighten and buckle. |
The tam is placed on the head with the ribbon to the back. Tie the ribbon to make a comfortable fit. Traditionally the tam is tilted a bit to the right to avoid being caught while drawing a sword. |

Over the shoulder Fly (sash). This sash is placed directly from front to back over the left shoulder (through the eppalet if there is one). The bottom of the sash usually ends a little below the kilt in back. The penannular is affixed so as to give balance and be seen. A hidden safety pin may be needed to prevent slipping of the sash. |
